ARC accepts a range of domestic plastics, including drinks bottles, bags sacks and wraps.
Farm & Commercial
We also accept clean farm plastics like plastic feed sacks, and the large woven one-tonne polypropylene fertiliser/builders’ sacks. We supply DEFRA & EA-approved waste transfer documentation as part of the service – just ring us first to give us some notice.
More Information
Packaging represents the largest single sector of plastics use in the UK. The sector accounts for 35% of UK plastics consumption and plastic is the material of choice in nearly half of all packaged goods. One tonne of plastics is equivalent to 20,000 two litre drinks bottles or 120,000 carrier bags – and 1.8 tonnes of oil are saved for every tonne of polythene which is recycled.
There are about 50 different groups of plastics, with hundreds of different varieties within those groups.

All types of plastic are recyclable, and are used to make polyethylene bin liners and carrier bags, flooring and window frames, insulation board, CD cases, fencing and garden furniture, seed trays, anoraks and fleeces, and fibre filling for sleeping bags and duvets.
