Recycling aluminium uses just 5% of the energy and CO2 emissions
generated by primary production. Aluminium can be recycled indefinitely
without degradation, and is also the most cost-effective material to recycle. Recycling a single aluminium saves enough energy to run a television for three hours.

Every tonne of steel recycled saves 1.5 tonnes of iron ore and half a tonne of coal. It also saves 40% of the water and 75% of the energy required for new steel production, and reduces the air and water pollution by about 80%.
